Drug Dealer Posing as Delivery Driver Arrested in Cardiff

Police in Cardiff have arrested a 25-year-old man who was dealing drugs while posing as a Deliveroo rider. Nahro Gharib was spotted by officers on patrol in the Adamstown area of Cardiff engaging in a suspicious exchange.

When questioned by officers, Gharib claimed his e-bike was legal, but he then fled the scene. Bodycam footage captured the swift detention of Gharib by officers.

During the search of his belongings, officers discovered multiple bags of cannabis concealed within a yogurt tub inside his Deliveroo bag. Cocaine was also found in a separate compartment.

Officers also located a dropped bag in Gold Street containing both cannabis and cocaine.

Further inspection of Gharib's e-bike revealed it was capable of reaching speeds of 59.2 mph, making it illegal for road use.

Gharib, who is from Cyncoed in Cardiff, pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including possession with intent to supply Class A cocaine and Class B cannabis, acquiring, using, and possessing criminal property, supplying cannabis, and using a motor vehicle without third-party insurance.

He was sentenced to 20 months in prison and disqualified from driving for 17 months.
