Body-camera footage has emerged showing Godfrey Forster-Davies, 26, screaming for help as he was caught by a police dog named Yolo following an 80 mph car chase. The incident occurred on June 18, when officers first observed Forster-Davies driving a Ford Fiesta with a malfunctioning license plate light in Bolsover.
Forster-Davies failed to stop for police, reaching speeds of up to 80 mph in 30 and 40 mph zones. He also disregarded junctions and drove on the wrong side of the road during the pursuit, which extended through Bolsover, Shuttlewood, and Clowne. After abandoning his vehicle, Forster-Davies attempted to flee on foot through nearby fields.
However, he was quickly tracked down and apprehended by Yolo and his handler, PC Andy Shaw. The body-camera footage documented Forster-Davies crying out, "Please, please, help me, help me, oh," as he was being caught. PC Shaw was heard instructing him to "stop fighting the dog" and "stop screaming."
Forster-Davies, from Eckington, Derbyshire, appeared at Chesterfield Magistrates' Court on July 9. He entered guilty pleas to four charges: dangerous driving, driving without insurance, failing to stop when required by a constable, and driving a vehicle with a dangerously worn tire. His sentencing is scheduled for August 27 at the same court.
The Derbyshire Police shared the footage on social media, eliciting comments from viewers. One user expressed hope that Yolo received extra treats, while another remarked on the driver's screams. The video documentation of the arrest has drawn public attention to the events of that night.
