A police chase through London concluded when a driver, attempting to evade officers, crashed a vehicle in front of a shopping center. The incident led to the arrest of a man and a woman, both 43, who sustained minor injuries and were taken to the hospital as a precaution.
Officers on patrol in Wandsworth High Street were alerted to a car with a cloned number plate at approximately 11:37 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2026. When signaled to stop, the driver failed to comply and instead reversed into a police vehicle, initiating an authorized pursuit.
Footage shared on social media depicted the gray Nissan vehicle swerving past a police car and mounting the pavement in an attempt to escape. The pursuit was brief, with the car later being surrounded by seven police vehicles near the Southside Shopping Centre. Witnesses reported seeing the Nissan spin around after colliding with another vehicle outside the shopping center around midday.
The arrested individuals face charges including aggravated vehicle taking, failing to stop, and dangerous driving. The Metropolitan Police urged anyone with information regarding the incident to contact them by calling 101, quoting reference CAD 3232/25July.
