A verbal dispute in Los Angeles escalated into a dangerous incident when a driver allegedly attempted to strike a couple and their dog with their vehicle. The encounter occurred in the Mid-Wilshire area near Harold A. Henry Park.

Dashcam footage from an Uber driver captured an orange car pursuing the couple. According to one of the individuals, identified only as Celine, the incident began at a stop sign. The couple had gestured for the driver to proceed so they could cross the street.

"We weren’t paying attention because we were on the phone. We thought he was just going to drive through, and then I hear him yell, ‘What, you don’t speak effing English?'" Celine told ABC 7.

Following the exchange, the car reportedly turned sharply from the stop sign, drove onto the grass, and toward the couple and their dog, Olive. The man, whose last name was not provided, stated he was able to pull their dog out of the path of the vehicle and was "barely missed."

"It all happened in a matter of seconds, but it was definitely one of the craziest things that’s ever happened to us," he added.

As the driver fled the scene, they allegedly made a remark to the couple: "Bet your effing scared now, huh?"

Bystanders also witnessed the event. Sequoia Hugee, who was in the park with her dog, told ABC7 that she saw the couple running toward the park as the car "came up on the curve like very crazy and then he drove away."

The couple has reported the incident to the Los Angeles Police Department. A department spokesperson stated on Saturday that there was no update on the investigation.
