Driver Abandons Intoxicated Woman on Santa Clarita Street, Caught on Video
Video footage shows a man leaving an unresponsive woman on a dark street before speeding away, prompting an investigation.
Authorities are investigating after a man was captured on video heartlessly abandoning a severely intoxicated woman on a Santa Clarita street. The incident occurred last Friday evening in the Saugus neighborhood, according to reports.
Doorbell camera footage shows a white pickup truck pulling over. The male driver then exited the vehicle, walked to the other side, and after some interaction, sped away, leaving the woman slumped and unresponsive on the pavement around 8:24 p.m. The homeowner who recorded the video expressed shock at the driver's actions, calling it "the most disgusting thing I’ve ever seen."
Two local high school students discovered the woman and immediately called for help. First responders arrived at the scene near Centurion Park at approximately 9:50 p.m. and transported her to a nearby hospital. The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station stated that deputies have identified the woman and are conducting follow-up inquiries to gather more information about the circumstances and determine if any criminal activity occurred.
Retired LAPD Detective Moses Castillo, commenting on the video, suggested investigators should consider potential kidnapping or sexual assault. He noted that a responsible individual would typically seek medical attention for someone in such a vulnerable state, rather than leaving them on the street.
It remains unclear whether the driver has been identified or if any charges will be filed.
