Drew Campbell Reflects on 'Big Brother 28' Eviction and Jury Feedback

Drew Campbell, who placed third in "Big Brother 28," has revealed that members of the jury informed him he could have potentially defeated Taylor Brown in the final two had he reached that stage. Campbell, a 22-year-old surgical dental assistant, shared this sentiment with Page Six, describing the revelation as "heartbreaking."

Campbell believes his strategy faltered when he failed to win the crucial final Head of Household competition. "That's kind of where my strategy went wrong. I should have just won it," he stated. "Then maybe I would have won the whole thing."

Initially, Campbell appeared to be on a trajectory for the final two, with both Taylor Brown and Rick Devens reportedly intending to bring him to the end. However, in a surprising turn of events, Devens, who secured victory in the final HOH, ultimately evicted Campbell and chose to take Brown to the final two. Devens, a "Survivor" alum, went on to win the season, securing six out of the seven jury votes, including Campbell's.

Campbell acknowledged that Devens' decision to evict him in third place "definitely hurt in the moment," especially given their apparent closeness in the game, which he described as his "'Big Brother' dad just cut me right at the end."

Despite the sting of the eviction, Campbell expressed gratitude for his overall experience, having played "Big Brother" for 87 days. "I got to be there the whole time. I got the full experience. Mentally, I'm just glad to be a part of it," he said.

Regarding his jury vote, Campbell confirmed he would have voted for Devens regardless, believing him to be the best player. "Devens played the best game. If I cut him, I still think he was the best player and he should have won the game. So he was getting my vote no matter what," Campbell explained. He emphasized that his decision was based on gameplay rather than personal affection, stating, "I can't even be mad."

Campbell also noted that he and Devens have had limited interaction since the finale, aside from a brief exchange where Devens apologized and expressed his affection after his win. "Right after the confetti, he hugged me and said he was sorry and he loves me, and I love him too," Campbell recounted. "No hard feelings, honestly."

Looking ahead, Campbell expressed eagerness to connect with Devens' family. "I'm excited to talk to Miss Becca, Jack and Juju, his family. I feel like I'm part of it now. I am their big brother," he added.
