Drea de Matteo Detained in Paris for Carrying Brass Knuckles En Route to OnlyFans Show
The 'Sopranos' star was stopped by French authorities but later appeared at a London Fashion Week event.
Drea de Matteo, known for her role as Adriana La Cerva in "The Sopranos," was detained by Paris police for carrying brass knuckles while on her way to London Fashion Week. De Matteo encountered the authorities during a stopover in Paris.
"I got detained in customs. They brought me up to a nice little jail cell area," de Matteo told Page Six. "But if you were to get semi-arrested or detained anywhere in the world, I’d have to say that Paris is the place to do it because they were lovely. They were actually very apologetic because they felt like it was ridiculous. They had to do it. It’s the law. But they didn’t catch any of the knives in the bags, which was even more f–king insane."
Despite the Parisian delay, de Matteo proceeded to London to participate in a collaboration between designer Natasha Zinko and OnlyFans. The event marked OnlyFans' debut at London Fashion Week, following appearances at similar events in Paris and New York.
De Matteo, who joined OnlyFans to help financially after facing foreclosure, has become a proponent of the platform, viewing it as a symbol of independence and freedom. She appeared on "OnlyFans Fashion Files," hosted by Leah McSweeney, and walked in Zinko's "Pay Per View" collection.
"It speaks to the whole OnlyFans immensely, but it also speaks to how society is right now with their social media and everyone’s controlling their own narratives all day long and then selling it and making a buck off of it," de Matteo said of the collection's theme. "And that is the world we’re living in right now, and OnlyFans takes that to the next level, obviously."
She described fashion designers as "free thinkers, independent artists, always bending the rules," aligning with OnlyFans' ethos of "ultimate freedom."
Beyond her involvement with OnlyFans, de Matteo has recently returned to acting after a five-year hiatus. She has completed a TV show where she plays the daughter of a "favorite mom" and a movie alongside John Travolta. "I’m ready, but it’s gotta be the right stuff. It can’t just be bulls–t," she stated.
OnlyFans is currently navigating a transition following the death of its owner, Leonid Radvinsky. While the platform was reportedly in talks to be sold, it appears to be staying within the Radvinsky family for now. De Matteo expressed that the platform's operations remain smooth for creators.
