Dre Greenlaw's Suspension Appeal Denied by NFL
49ers linebacker will miss Week 6 game against Commanders after headbutt incident.

San Francisco 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw will not play in the team's Week 6 matchup against the Washington Commanders after his appeal of a one-game suspension was denied. The suspension stems from an incident during Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks.
On Monday, Greenlaw received a one-game suspension for using his helmet to headbutt Seahawks linebacker Ernest Jones IV, who was not wearing a helmet at the time. The incident occurred after Greenlaw made a late hit on Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold on the Seattle sideline, which led to a scuffle between the teams.
ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported Tuesday night that Greenlaw's attempt to overturn the suspension was unsuccessful. The 49ers will now have to prepare for their upcoming game without their starting linebacker.
