Drake's Team Denies Paternity Rumors Amid Keshia Chante's Pregnancy Announcement

Representatives for the rapper Drake have refuted rumors that he is the father of musical artist Keshia Chante's unborn child. Chante, 38, announced on Tuesday that she is seven months pregnant with a baby boy in an interview with Hello!.

Online speculation arose that Drake, 39, could be the father after Chante's announcement, though she did not name the child's father in the feature. Drake's team has since responded to the rumors. "Inaccurate," was the response provided to TMZ, while a statement to People described the speculation as "false."

Drake, who has a history with Chante, is also the father of eight-year-old son Adonis with ex Sophie Brussaux. He previously alluded to his past romance with Chante, whom many speculated was the muse for his 2018 hit "In My Feelings," during his OVO Fest in August 2022. "This next person coming to the stage, I used to get in my mom's car and I used to drive all the way to the west for this one right here," he said at the time. "So I have to personally introduce her. This is my first girlfriend I ever had in my life."

Chante shared the news of her pregnancy on Instagram with photos from a maternity shoot. She wrote, "Mommy & Daddy are so excited to welcome you into the world. Oh, and we’ve already got you booked & busy. Dada’s got your studio locked and we expect your album to drop summer 2027."

Drake announced the birth of his son Adonis in his 2018 song "Emotionless." In the lyrics, he stated, "I wasn’t hiding my kid from the world/ I was hiding the world from my kid/ From empty souls who just wake up and look to debate/ Until you staring at your seed, you can never relate."

In 2018, Drake spoke about embracing fatherhood on the show The Shop, stating, "We have found ourselves in a situation and we are both equally responsible. Now, I'm just really excited to be a great father."

Chante has expressed enthusiasm about her pregnancy, telling Hello!, "God bless him." She added, "He’s brilliant and super creative and just constantly doing things that I’m inspired by. So I would love to see my son have his mannerisms and his swag."

Sophie Brussaux, Drake's ex and the mother of his son, married Turkish fighter Efe Caliskan in June.
