Dr. Terry Dubrow has vehemently denied and condemned accusations made by reality television personality Vicki Gunvalson, who theorized that a portion of his wealth originated from an inheritance from his late brother, Kevin Dubrow, the frontman for the 1980s rock band Quiet Riot. Terry Dubrow, a renowned plastic surgeon and television personality, stated his strong disapproval during an interview at his wife Heather Dubrow's "Champs with Heather Dubrow" event.
"It pissed me off," Terry Dubrow said, addressing Gunvalson's claims, which first surfaced during the premiere of "Real Housewives of Orange County" Season 20. He emphasized that he built his financial success independently, beginning his work at age 10 and supporting himself through medical school by waiting tables. "Everything I did, I have made on my own, except for what Heather has contributed, which has been major," he stated. "So, to say that I inherited any amount of money from my brother — first of all, factually, it’s just totally incorrect."
Kevin Dubrow died in 2007 from an accidental overdose at age 52. Terry Dubrow characterized Gunvalson's assertion as "insensitive" and "a mean thing to do to [Kevin’s] memory." He further explained that any funds his brother possessed at the time of his death would have likely gone to their mother, and considering Kevin's last successful album was released in 1984, any remaining inheritance would not have been significant.
Terry Dubrow also addressed a $100,000 bet he made with Gunvalson to prove his claim that he did not inherit money from his brother. He noted that Gunvalson has not taken him up on the offer, stating, "It’s been like a ghost town. Tumbleweeds in a town in East Texas that’s been evacuated. Nothing." He urged Gunvalson to cease making the claims if she is unwilling to back them with a wager, concluding, "Until you want to bet me $100,000 that I didn’t inherit a dime from my brother, shut up, Vicki. Leave it alone. You’re just wrong."
The Dubrow couple's affluent lifestyle has been frequently showcased on "The Real Housewives of Orange County." In recent years, they sold their Newport Beach residence, known as Chateau Dubrow, for $55 million in 2022, and a Beverly Hills mansion for $16.5 million in 2025. During the recent "RHOC" Season 20 premiere, Heather Dubrow hosted a party that reportedly cost $75,000, the same episode where she initially confronted Gunvalson about her inheritance theory.
