Fox News senior medical analyst Dr. Marc Siegel has detailed instances of what he describes as "angels hiding in plain sight" in his new book, "The Angels Among Us." The book explores stories of faith, divine intervention, and healing, often drawing connections to events following the Hamas attacks of October 7, 2023.
Siegel highlights the Flydubai Flight FZ1073 incident on September 30, 2026, as an example of such intervention. He reports that co-pilot Hamam al Hamami, described as a radical extremist, attacked the pilot, but was subdued by passengers including a plumber, a dentist, and two off-duty pilots. Siegel posits that these individuals acted as "angels" who saved the pilot, plane, and passengers.
Another account detailed in the book involves an Israeli medic named Shlomi and an intelligence officer named Bezalel during an incursion into Gaza on January 11, 2024, the 99th day of the war. Bezalel, who had previously made a mistake on a test regarding the application of combat gauze to high thigh wounds, had studied the correct procedure. During an operation in Khan Yunis, Bezalel sustained a severe injury from shrapnel that severed his femoral artery. Shlomi, who happened to be nearby, successfully applied the combat gauze, saving Bezalel's life. This incident was further linked to a mislabeled building on Bezalel's operational map, which he corrected, and the officer who corrected Bezalel's map arrived in time to assist in the rescue.
Siegel also mentions other instances of resilience and recovery in the wake of the October 7 war, including reports of soldiers and civilians experiencing remarkable physical and psychological recoveries. He notes one account of a soldier whose life was reportedly saved when a bullet was stopped by a book of Psalms carried in his vest.
