Dr. Chris Brown to Lead KIIS FM Sydney Breakfast Show Amidst Major Station Overhaul

ARN has announced that television star Dr. Chris Brown will join KIIS FM Sydney's breakfast slot, filling the vacancy left by the March axing of The Kyle and Jackie O Show. He will co-host the new program with KIIS regular Amy Gerard and Nova's Jack Charles, with the show set to debut on Monday, November 9.

Dr. Brown expressed his enthusiasm for the new role, stating, "Waking up with the city I love and bringing a huge dose of real life, warmth and (hopefully) humour is truly a dream come true." Gerard described the appointment as a "pinch yourself" moment, noting the natural chemistry already present between the three hosts.

Veteran producer Natalie Penfold will also join the team to help shape the show's content. ARN Chief Content Officer Kerri Elstub highlighted the trio's unique perspectives and the show's potential to be "fresh, fun and unmistakably Sydney," while maintaining KIIS FM's reputation for delivering entertainment.

The new breakfast program will be exclusive to Sydney, as ARN returns to operating separate breakfast shows in Sydney and Melbourne. This move follows a previous experiment where the Sydney-based Kyle Sandilands and Jackie 'O' Henderson hosted both markets, a strategy that reportedly saw declining ratings in Melbourne.

ARN CEO Michael Stephenson indicated that the company has spent months developing new talent and programming. The station recently teased a "new era" on social media. The shake-up comes after reports of legal action involving Jackie 'O' Henderson, who has alleged mistreatment by her former co-host Kyle Sandilands. Sandilands previously settled his own contract dispute with ARN.
