Dozens of damaged police cars have been observed piled high at a scrapyard in Oxfordshire, England. Approximately 64 vehicles, believed to be from the Metropolitan Police and valued at roughly £2.5 million when new, were found stacked four cars deep at ASM Auto Recycling in Thame.
The collection of wrecked vehicles includes police cars with missing windows and doors, as well as those with damaged bonnets and bumpers. Police vans are also present at the 20-acre site.
ASM Auto Recycling specializes in dismantling vehicles involved in accidents that are beyond repair. The site utilizes heavy machinery, such as JCBs with pincers, to break down scrap cars and sort their parts for recycling. The operation reports recycling 95 percent of the materials from each vehicle and maintains an inventory of over 100,000 recycled vehicle parts.
The Daily Mail has contacted the Metropolitan Police for comment on the presence of these vehicles at the scrapyard.
