Doug Mason Says He Has 'Officially Moved On' From Taylor Frankie Paul

Doug Mason, the winner of Taylor Frankie Paul's season of "The Bachelorette," announced Monday that he has "officially moved on" from their broken engagement.

Mason shared his statement on his Instagram Story, expressing gratitude for his experience on the show and stating that he has learned a lot about himself. "That experience has been looming in my life for some time, and although I’ve been moved on for a long time, I think it’s important that I express to you guys that I have," he said.

He concluded, "I have officially moved on, and this is me saying that I’m going that way. So I hope that everybody can understand that it was in my past and now I’m focusing on my future."

Paul had previously confirmed that she accepted Mason's proposal at the end of her "Bachelorette" season. However, during Season 5 of "Secret Lives of Mormon Wives," she admitted to cheating on Mason with her ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen, with whom she shares her son, Ever.

Paul confessed that Mortensen texted her as soon as she returned home from filming "The Bachelorette" in December 2025, and that they began sleeping together. About a month after "The Bachelorette" wrapped, Paul ended her engagement to Mason. It is not clear if she disclosed her infidelity to him at the time.

ABC had previously pulled the plug on Paul's unaired "Bachelorette" season in March following the leak of a 2023 domestic incident video between her and Mortensen. Since then, Paul and Mortensen have been engaged in a custody battle and have made accusations of domestic abuse against each other.

In April, reports indicated that Paul and Mason had attempted to reconcile, with a source telling Us Weekly that they were "seeing each other" again and "trying to make it work." Mason had also shared a supportive message to Paul on social media following the "Bachelorette" cancellation, stating, "All we can do right now is just be hopeful."
