Simon Levy, 49, was sentenced to life in prison on Wednesday for the murders of two women and the rape of another. The offenses were committed while Levy was on bail for a series of other sexual assault allegations.
During the hearing at the Old Bailey, families of the two women Levy murdered confronted him. A survivor of one of the attacks also addressed Levy, stating he was not worthy of her "words or time."
Lindsey Hicks, the sister of murdered mother-of-four Sheryl Wilkins, spoke of the devastating impact of her sister's death. "You, Simon Levy, have destroyed our lives and we will never get over this," Hicks told the court. "We should have been growing old together like sisters do and be there to support each other. Instead, I'm having to realise that one day in the near future I will be older than my big sister."
Hicks added, "I hope you rot in prison for the rest of your life." She also expressed that her family would continue to honor Sheryl's memory by sharing memories and living their lives to the fullest.
Levy, who wore sunglasses in court due to an eye condition, received his sentence after being found guilty of the murders and rape. The court heard details of his offenses, which included the violent deaths of Sheryl Wilkins and Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo, and an assault on another woman.
The sentencing concludes a period of intense pain and legal proceedings for the victims' families, who have waited for justice following Levy's crimes.
