Donnie Wahlberg's Private Jet Skids Off Runway in Las Vegas
The actor shared an emotional video crediting pilots and divine intervention for their safety.
Actor and singer Donnie Wahlberg narrowly escaped a dangerous situation when his private jet skidded off the runway at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas on Sunday.
Wahlberg, brother of actor Mark Wahlberg and star of the police drama “Blue Bloods,” shared an emotional video on Instagram detailing the moments after the incident.
"We were taking off and didn’t get up in the air, and ran out of runway. I’m just going to tell you these pilots saved our lives. And God covered us," Wahlberg said in the video. He expressed gratitude for their survival, noting they avoided numerous obstacles.
The Dassault Falcon 50 aircraft was carrying eight people when it departed Runway 1L at approximately 11 a.m. Sunday, bound for Toronto Pearson Airport in Canada. According to airport officials, the plane struck the perimeter fence before coming to a stop.
Wahlberg was traveling with friends and his team after concluding a 40-show residency in Las Vegas with the New Kids on the Block. The group had performed their final show on Saturday night.
While the aircraft sustained damage, Wahlberg stated that he and his passengers were unharmed. The Federal Aviation Administration confirmed the incident.
