Donnie Wahlberg's Private Jet Skids Off Las Vegas Runway
The actor expressed gratitude for the pilots and divine intervention following the incident at Harry Reid International Airport.
Actor Donnie Wahlberg shared his relief and gratitude after his private jet skidded off the runway during takeoff at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas on Sunday.
"We're all OK. I'm OK. We were taking off and didn't get up in the air and ran out of runway," Wahlberg, 57, said in a video posted to Instagram. He credited the pilots with saving their lives and stated that "God covered us."
Wahlberg recounted that the pilots managed to avoid colliding with fences, trucks, heavy equipment, and dumpsters. "God is good," he added, appearing emotional. "We had just finished praying, and I looked out the window and said, ‘We are not getting up in the air today.’ But we're safe and thankful and all is well."
He described the event as "a rather intense few moments" that "felt like a few long minutes."
Jenny McCarthy, Wahlberg's wife, expressed her relief online, writing, "God is so good!!!!"
The incident involved a Dassault Falcon 50 aircraft departing from Runway 1L. According to flight-tracking data, the jet moved slowly from its taxi position, turned onto the runway, and then veered off the pavement, coming to a stop after hitting a perimeter fence.
The Federal Aviation Administration issued a ground stop for the airport, citing an "aircraft emergency."
