Actress Donna Air shared images of herself in a striped bikini on Wednesday, stating she was attempting to "stay cool" amid a heatwave. The 46-year-old actress posed in a locker room for a mirror selfie, wearing a navy two-piece that she described as an Eres bikini.
Air also posted other images, including one with her dog and another showcasing a black paisley patterned blouse and matching trousers. In a social media post, she wrote, "Life lately.... Trying to stay cool in between work meetings in my Eres bikini."
The actress recently reunited with her former co-stars Ant and Dec, over 30 years after they rose to fame together on the teen drama "Byker Grove." The trio attended the Variety Club Showbusiness Awards at The Londoner in Leicester Square. Air, who played Charlie Charlton on the BBC series, expressed that seeing them felt like "old times" and compared their bond to that of schoolmates.
She has not ruled out appearing in the forthcoming spin-off series, "Byker," stating, "I'm getting the itch back, so it's time to get back on set. Byker could be a good place to start."
Earlier this year, Air announced the death of her father, Trevor, after a battle with cancer. She shared a heartfelt post on Instagram a week after his passing at a hospital in Northumbria. Air described saying goodbye as the "hardest" thing she has ever done, finding comfort in knowing he was no longer in pain. She shared photos of them together over the years and a clip of them dancing, calling him her "favourite dance partner."
"Nothing feels quite right since you’ve gone," she wrote. "Saying goodbye was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do, but I take comfort in knowing we were together, that you felt loved, and that you are no longer suffering."
Air reflected on the cruelty of cancer and the impact it had on her father and their family. She expressed gratitude for the palliative care team at Wansbeck hospital and the support of friends. "Most of all, I’m grateful to you dad. For the life you gave me, the sacrifices you made, memories shared, and for fighting as hard as you did so we could have more moments together," she added. "You will always be my favourite dance partner."
