Donald Trump's childhood home in Queens has sold for $1.93 million after a renovation transformed the New York City residence. The Tudor-style house in the Jamaica Estates neighborhood, where Trump lived until age 4, has been updated from a neglected property into a modern home.

The seller, developer Tommy Lin, purchased the five-bedroom, three-bathroom home last year for $835,000. Following its purchase, Lin invested an additional $500,000 in an eight-month renovation that included a chef's kitchen, herringbone wood floors, and updated bathrooms. The property had sat vacant and neglected for years prior to Lin's purchase.

Fred Trump, the president's father and a developer, built the home in 1940. The Trump family has not owned the property in many years. The home has changed hands multiple times, selling for $2.14 million in 2017, months after Trump became president. At one point, it was briefly offered for rent on Airbnb by a buyer named Trump Birth Home LLC, furnished with items such as a cardboard cutout of Trump and copies of his book, "The Art of the Deal."

In 2019, the house was listed for sale with an asking price of $2.9 million but did not sell until Lin acquired it. Before the recent renovation, the home reportedly fell into disrepair, suffering from water damage and mold due to a burst pipe, and had become home to a colony of feral cats.

Donald Trump, 80, built a career in real estate before entering politics. His properties include Trump Tower in Manhattan, where he resided for decades. As president, he has overseen renovations at the White House, including the addition of a ballroom and the redecoration of the Oval Office with gold-plated fixtures.
