Don Lemon Says Trump Delivered on Policy Promises

Former CNN anchor Don Lemon stated that former President Donald Trump has fulfilled “pretty much every promise” he made regarding policy during his time in office. Lemon made the comments on the “Who’s With Me?” podcast with W. Kamau Bell, where the two discussed Trump’s remarks about potentially running for a third term.

“I think you always take the person who is the president of the United States seriously and pretty much every promise that he has made – pretty much, like, policy-wise – he has delivered,” Lemon said. He cited immigration, taxes, and healthcare as areas where Trump had followed through on his stated intentions.

Lemon noted that the economy was one area where Trump had not delivered on his promises. The discussion touched on Trump’s recent "Trump 2028" hat, which he wore at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner and later went on sale from his company. Trump has expressed interest in running again, though he has also acknowledged the legal limitations.

Lemon stated that he takes Trump’s potential third-term ambitions seriously, pointing to his influence on the Supreme Court and his disregard for federal judges. “He’s definitely gonna try, and no one has been able to stop him,” Lemon said.

Bell and Lemon also discussed the economy and unmet promises of stimulus checks. Bell mentioned lower gas prices and an end to foreign wars as other areas voters might expect Trump to address. Lemon humorously referenced promised “DOGE checks” or “tariff rebate or refund checks” that have not materialized.

Lemon, who previously expressed seriousness about a potential 2028 presidential run, was dismissed from CNN in April 2023 after a 17-year tenure. He has since focused on his independent journalism and his podcast, “The Don Lemon Show.”
