Richard Delcid, a manager at Domino's in Manassas, Virginia, has earned the title of "World's Fastest Pizza Maker." Delcid achieved this distinction at the Domino's World Fastest Pizza Making Competition held in Las Vegas last month, completing three large pizzas in 31.22 seconds.

For his speed and precision, Delcid was awarded $5,000, a trophy, and a championship belt by Domino's CEO Russell Weiner. The competition, which began in 1982, requires participants to hand-stretch dough and prepare one pepperoni, one mushroom, and one cheese pizza. Competitors are evaluated on dough preparation, sauce application, topping portioning, and placement.

Delcid began his career with Domino's in 2012 while in high school, initially working in customer service and as a delivery driver. He advanced to become a general manager in 2015. Robert Donner, the owner of Delcid's store, noted Delcid's exceptional qualities. Frank Garrido, Domino's executive vice president, stated that the competition celebrates the skills of Domino's employees, often referred to as "Dominoids," who perform demanding tasks with apparent ease, reflecting the company's high standards.

"This competition isn’t just about speed – it’s about delivering quality under pressure, just like we do in stores every day. Years of hard work and practice went into this moment, and I’m incredibly proud of what I accomplished," Delcid said. Domino's operates more than 22,300 stores globally.
