Dominic Purcell Unveils New Tattoos Inspired by Australian Roots

Actor Dominic Purcell has showcased his new Australian-themed tattoos, inking the Southern Cross and an Australian sun onto his chest. Purcell, who was born in England but grew up in Sydney, shared the update on Instagram.

In the post, Purcell posed shirtless at a tattoo parlor, proudly displaying his new ink. He thanked tattoo artist Jamie Gene for the work, specifically mentioning the Southern Cross and the Aussie Sun as iconic Australian symbols. Purcell's wife, Tish Cyrus, reacted positively to the new tattoos in the comments section, posting fire emojis.

This is not Purcell's only recent tattoo tribute to his upbringing. Last month, he revealed a large back tattoo with the word 'RIFF' in prominent lettering. He explained that this tattoo was a nod to Penrith, a Sydney suburb where he spent his formative years in the 1970s and 1980s. He expressed pride in his origins, stating, "Always proud of what made me."

Purcell, known for his role as Lincoln Burrows in the Fox drama 'Prison Break,' has also recently adopted a rugged new personal style. Last year, he surprised fans with a transformation that included a full white beard and a more relaxed physique, a departure from the clean-cut image associated with his earlier roles.

Purcell married Tish Cyrus in 2023. His marriage to Cyrus, the mother of singer Miley Cyrus, has created a connection between the American artist and Australia, as Miley gained four Australian step-siblings through the union. Purcell and Cyrus began dating in July 2022, shortly after Cyrus's divorce from Billy Ray Cyrus. They announced their engagement in April 2023 and wed in Malibu, California, four months later. Purcell has four children from a previous marriage. Tish Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus divorced in 2022 after multiple separations, sharing five children together.
