Real Housewives of New Jersey personality Dolores Catania is facing criticism on social media for her choice of dress at her son's wedding. Catania, 55, wore a pale green silky halter gown with a large floral embellishment on the chest and a thigh-high slit to the August 1 ceremony in Portugal. Her son, Frank Jr., 27, married his longtime girlfriend, Nicole Perricho, at the event. Photos from the wedding, which appeared on Instagram, prompted some social media users to accuse Catania of upstaging the bride. The color of the dress, described as pale green, was perceived by some as appearing white in certain lighting conditions, a choice considered a faux pas by many wedding guests and observers. Online comments included accusations that Catania was trying to steal the spotlight and that her dress was "ridiculous" and "way over the top."
However, others defended Catania, arguing that the dress was clearly blue and that she looked "stunning." Supporters criticized the "fashion police" for their negative comments and urged people to consider the summer wedding setting in Portugal. One comment noted, "Good grief her son gets married in the summer in Portugal and she wears something super fun. Get a grip."
Catania's gown was designed by Leigh Price, head designer at Stephen Yearick. The couple, Frank Jr. and Nicole, were engaged in February 2025. They held their wedding at the Vintage House in Douro Valley, Portugal, which they described as "relaxed, elegant and effortlessly romantic." Frank Jr. explained their choice of venue was due to Nicole's family being from Portugal. Nicole wore a custom couture gown from White House Bride designer Stacie Hiras, while Frank Jr. wore a custom Michael Andrews Bespoke NYC suit.
