Dollywood Theme Park in Sevierville, Tennessee, is introducing new features designed to honor the life and legacy of its founder, the iconic entertainer Dolly Parton. The park, located in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, is a major tourist destination and the largest employer in Sevier County, where Parton grew up.
Among the planned additions is a new character named the Dream Maker, inspired by Parton's Imagination Library literacy program. The park will also enhance its chapel with stained glass windows and add a waterfall, intended to reflect Parton's deep faith. Visitors will have opportunities to share their thoughts and memories of Parton through new kiosks. Additionally, The Dolly Parton Experience, an area dedicated to exhibits on her life and career, will see new features.
Sevierville itself is also honoring Parton with markers throughout the city for a self-guided walking tour, highlighting significant places from her life.
