Dolly Parton's Nephew Fired From Estate Security Amid Estate Disputes

Dolly Parton’s nephew, Bryan Seaver, has been removed from his longtime security position overseeing the late singer’s estate, according to reports. Seaver and his security companies received a notice last week stating their immediate dismissal from all of Parton’s properties.

New security teams were reportedly installed at Parton’s main Nashville residence, museum, downtown residence, and warehouse following the termination. Seaver, who is the son of Parton’s sister Cassie, expressed dismay at the sudden changes.

In a statement to TMZ, Seaver and his team said they were "dismayed by the unexpected and, so far, unexplained actions" and warned that changes to the estate may be undertaken "in bad faith." They stated their resolve to "fulfill [Parton’s] final directive to protect her family" and refused to be intimidated by actions they believe are intended to profit from Parton’s legacy.

The termination letter reportedly does not affect Seaver’s personal interest in Parton’s trust, which manages her business interests and properties.

Seaver was the relative chosen to publicly announce Parton’s death on August 25. In an Instagram video posted to Parton's account, he identified himself as head of security for over two decades, a role his father held before him. He shared that he had imagined the heaviness of that moment but "haven’t truly felt it until now."

"It is an honor that is mixed with absolute pride and great sadness. But sadness lies with us, not with Dolly," Seaver said at the time. He also recounted Parton’s final wishes for her burial, describing her desire for "a bed of plush cotton" after a life of performing in "heavy rhinestones."

Parton died at age 80 after a private battle with cancer. She was laid to rest in a private funeral service in Nashville three days after her death.
