Dolly Parton's Nephew Fired as Estate Security Amid Estate Disputes

Dolly Parton's nephew and longtime security chief, Bryan Seaver, has been dismissed from his role overseeing the music icon's properties less than a month after her death.

Seaver received a notice on Wednesday stating that his security organizations, which were responsible for protecting Parton's Nashville home, museum, and a warehouse, were being replaced by a new company. Insiders believe Parton's manager Danny Nozell and Pinnacle Bank were behind the decision.

A new security team was deployed to the locations on Wednesday following the termination notice. Sources close to Seaver expressed dismay at the actions taken after Parton's passing on August 25, stating, "We remain unshakably resolved to fulfill her final directive to protect her family, and we refuse to be intimidated by those whose actions we believe are being taken in bad faith." His camp suggested the actions were taken "with the intent to profit from the life of someone who willingly gave so much."

According to reports, the notice indicated that the DP Dean Trust is overseeing Parton's business and properties. Seaver, whose mother Cassie is Parton's sister, had been appointed by Parton to publicly announce her death. He revealed the news in an emotional video clip following her passing after a battle with cancer.

In the clip, Seaver stated that his father, Larry, had held the security position before him. He mentioned he had served as Parton's security head for the past two decades and had worked for her for the last four decades, starting on the road with her as a child in the early 1980s.

Parton has been honored in the weeks since her death with a tribute at the Primetime Emmy Awards and the renaming of Nashville International Airport in her memory.
