Dolly Parton's Nephew Bryan Seaver Arrested for Assault Years Before Allegedly Threatening Manager

Dolly Parton’s nephew, Bryan Seaver, was arrested for assault over 25 years ago, The Sun reported Thursday. The incident occurred on October 6, 2000, at a Nashville bar called Banana Joe's. According to a police report obtained by The Sun, the alleged victim stated that Seaver attempted to strike him after being informed he risked being ejected from the establishment.

Seaver allegedly failed to make contact with the victim and was subsequently arrested by police. The case was dismissed later that year.

Seaver, the son of Parton's sister Cassie, was reportedly fired from his long-standing position as Parton's head of security shortly after the singer's death in August. Following his dismissal, Parton's manager, Danny Nozell, filed a restraining order against Seaver. Nozell alleged that Seaver had been attempting to extort money from him and had issued threats.

Court documents indicate that Nozell accused Seaver of leveraging his claimed military-contractor experience, access to weapons, and capacity for violence in his demands for money. Parton's management company, She's Alive, LLC, also filed a lawsuit, alleging that Seaver sent threatening text messages to employees. The messages reportedly included Seaver referring to himself as an "international arms dealer and mercenary" and stating, "I’m a killer."

According to the lawsuit, Seaver also warned after Parton's death, "Everyone needs to be worried about what I might do," and vowed to "destroy the entire brand" and "ratf–k every entity."

Seaver responded to the allegations in a statement to TMZ, claiming the messages were taken out of context. "Nothing in this lawsuit were threats and most of the comments I stand by," he said. "I was talking frankly in a private way with Danny who I thought was my friend and he fancies himself a gangster."

Seaver also expressed dismay over his termination, suggesting that "unexpected and, so far, unexplained actions" have occurred since Parton's passing. He had served as Parton's head of security for over two decades, a role previously held by his father, Larry Seaver.
