Dolly Parton has received a new star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame after her previous one was vandalized. The incident occurred shortly after Parton's death, when fans had placed flowers on her star. Vandals subsequently scratched her name off the star.
In response to the vandalism, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has reportedly replaced the star. The incident has also prompted new additions to Parton's theme park, Dollywood, located in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Parton purchased the attraction in 1982, envisioning it as a counterpart to Disneyland. Dollywood has since grown to become Tennessee's largest ticketed tourist attraction, drawing approximately four million visitors annually.
New features at Dollywood are set to honor Parton's legacy. A new waterfall will be installed outside the park's chapel, intended to provide a serene setting for guests. The chapel will also feature new stained-glass windows incorporating a Bible verse that is significant to Parton: "For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven." Additionally, to acknowledge Parton's commitment to children and her Imagination Library book program, the park will introduce a new character named the Dream Maker next year.
