Dolly Parton's Estate Secures Restraining Order Against Nephew Amid Family Feud

Dolly Parton's estate has obtained a temporary restraining order against the music legend's nephew, Bryan Seaver, amid allegations of threatening behavior directed at her manager. The legal action comes after Seaver's employment was terminated.

Danny Nozell, who managed Parton for over two decades, filed for the restraining order on behalf of Parton's company, She's Alive, LLC. According to court documents, Nozell claims Seaver demanded money and invoked his military background, access to weapons, and capacity for violence. Nozell stated that Seaver's behavior escalated in the weeks leading up to Parton's death on August 25 at age 80.

Seaver, who served as his aunt's security chief and was entrusted to announce her death, has disputed the allegations. He told TMZ that the communications cited in the lawsuit were taken out of context and represented private conversations with Nozell, whom he described as a friend. Seaver stated that some comments were made in anger or grief, and that remarks about "rat f***ing" an organization were directed at individuals who had wronged Parton in business.

A Tennessee judge has granted She's Alive, LLC legal protection from Seaver and his security company, Squadron Augmented Protection Services (SAPS). The order mandates that Seaver and SAPS must stay at least 1,000 feet away from She's Alive employees, lawyers, and business partners, and refrain from interfering with the company's business relationships. A hearing to address the matter is scheduled for October 7.

Seaver's security companies had previously provided protection for Parton's Nashville home, museum, and a warehouse. However, Seaver and his associates were reportedly informed last week that their services were being terminated and replaced by another company. Sources close to Seaver expressed dismay over these actions, which they believe were carried out in bad faith and with the intent to profit from Parton's legacy.

Dolly Parton's sister, Stella Parton, has broken her silence on the family dispute, posting an Instagram Story on Thursday. She stated that the family remains in contact and is moving forward, focusing on providing strength and guidance to their children and grandchildren during this difficult and confusing time. Stella Parton added that the family plans to celebrate the singer's one-month death anniversary.

Seaver, whose mother Cassie is Dolly Parton's sister, had a long-standing role in his aunt's affairs. He was chosen by Parton to announce her passing, sharing an emotional statement on August 25. In that clip, Seaver highlighted his decades of work with his aunt, emphasizing her impact on his family and generations of artists. He also noted his father had previously held the security chief position.

Parton has been honored in numerous ways since her death, including a tribute at the Primetime Emmy Awards featuring Reba McEntire and Sally Field. Nashville International Airport is also slated to be renamed in her memory.
