A pocket bully named Pablo, who recently attacked his owner Freddy Brazier and his grandmother Jackiey Budden, will not be euthanized. Brazier received emergency hospital treatment for a 3cm hole in his arm following the incident.
Veterinarians believe that a urine infection may have affected Pablo's behavior, leading to the attacks. Brazier was given seven days to find a suitable new home for the dog, or he would face euthanasia. However, it has now been reported that the dog will be spared. A friend of Brazier's stated that the owner has secured a place for Pablo with a specialist trainer.
"What happened was shocking and very sad, but Freddy knows Pablo isn't a bad dog. He was told a urine infection could have altered his behaviour, and he has not been violent before," the friend told The Sun. "For now, Freddy has arranged to have Pablo taken by a specialist trainer who will care for him and get him back to his best before they work out what to do next. Freddy is absolutely elated."
Earlier reports indicated that police were involved after neighbors called them on July 16, hearing screams as the dog gripped Jackiey Budden. She required medical treatment. Four days later, Pablo attacked again, injuring both Brazier and Budden, necessitating hospital visits.
Brazier described the attack on his arm as terrifying, stating, "I couldn't feel anything in my right arm. But then I saw blood coming out of my tracksuit. I opened it to see a 3cm hole in my arm. It was terrifying."
Brazier's ex-girlfriend, Holly Swinburn, who shares a daughter with him, claimed that Pablo had been mistreated and attacked to protect himself. "He's the nicest dog and this is totally out of character for him. He wouldn't hurt a fly," she stated. She expressed a desire to find a good home for Pablo and avoid his euthanasia.
