Dog Rescued From Cliff Ledge at Pecca Falls
A Labrador named Penny was safely retrieved after becoming stranded near a waterfall.

A dog stranded on a narrow ledge at the bottom of a 40-foot cliff next to a waterfall has been safely retrieved by a volunteer-run rescue team. The incident occurred at Pecca Falls in Ingleton on Saturday afternoon.
Eight-year-old Labrador Penny had fallen into the river before becoming stuck on a rocky outcrop approximately 6.5 feet above the water. The Yorkshire Dales charity Cave Rescue Organisation (CRO) and North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue responded to the call.
Using a rope system, a volunteer was lowered to the ledge to reach Penny. The dog was then hauled back up the gorge and reunited with her owners. The fire service's Ripon swiftwater rescue team provided support downstream during the operation.
