A black Labrador named Tokyo collapsed halfway up Ben Nevis, the United Kingdom's highest mountain, during a hike with her owner. The dog was subsequently rescued and is suspected to have ingested discarded cannabis, which made her critically unwell.

Tokyo's owner, who was not identified by name in the report, expressed gratitude to the Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team and the veterinary staff in Fort William. "You were there when we needed you most," the owner stated, adding a caution to other dog owners about the potential presence of discarded drugs and toxic substances in outdoor areas.

The Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team confirmed they were pleased with Tokyo's full recovery and commended the support from Crown Vets. The incident highlights a concern for pet owners hiking in remote areas.
