Dodgers Pitcher's Wife Receives Death Threats After NLCS Loss

Haeley Snell, wife of Dodgers pitcher Blake Snell, revealed on social media the disturbing threats she has received following the team's loss in Game 3 of the National League Championship Series. The messages emerged after her husband's outing where he allowed back-to-back home runs in the seventh inning, contributing to the Dodgers' 6-2 defeat and a three-game losing streak in the series.

One direct message shared by Haeley Snell on Instagram Stories read: "It's simple: tell that son of a b**** to back off before October 20th. Otherwise, I'll cut off your fingers, one by one. I don't care about spending 40k to track you down, you b****. He has until October 20th. Consider yourself warned."

Snell posted the message with the caption, "Tell me you lost a sports bet without telling me you lost a sports bet." Some online observers noted that October 20th falls after a potential NLCS Game 7.

In the game, Blake Snell was responsible for four of the Milwaukee Brewers' six runs. The Dodgers' offense also struggled, finishing 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position and leaving seven runners stranded.

These threats highlight a growing issue of online abuse directed at professional athletes and their families, particularly in the era of legalized sports betting. Earlier this year, major sports leagues including MLB, the NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLS collectively urged state regulators to implement lifetime bans for bettors who harass players and personnel.
