Dodgers Offer Free Beer to Fans Amidst Falling Ticket Prices
The Los Angeles Dodgers are resorting to promotional tactics like free beer and koozies as ticket prices for Game 3 of the NLCS plummet.
The Los Angeles Dodgers are facing a steep challenge in Game 3 of the NLCS, trailing the Milwaukee Brewers 0-2. In an effort to boost attendance and fan morale, the team has begun offering free beer and Budweiser koozies to fans at Dodger Stadium. This promotional push comes as ticket prices for Game 3 have significantly decreased.
Before the series began, tickets for Game 3 were listed at an average of $144. However, following the Dodgers' losses in the first two games, prices have dropped by approximately 47%, now averaging around $97 per ticket, according to Front Office Sports. Fans were observed lining up at a Budweiser tent on the concourse to receive complimentary beverages and promotional items.
The Dodgers, who swept the Brewers in the NLCS last year, find themselves in a precarious position. Pitcher Blake Snell is scheduled to start Game 3, aiming for redemption after a short outing in the NLDS. Additionally, four-time MVP Shohei Ohtani, who has struggled in the postseason, is slated to bat sixth in the lineup, a spot reportedly considered after discussions about benching him.
