Dodgers' NLDS Schedule Draws Fan Ire with Midday Start Times

Major League Baseball has unveiled the schedule for the Los Angeles Dodgers' National League Division Series, and fans are voicing displeasure over several start times, particularly those that fall during the workday.

The series opener on Saturday is set for 1 p.m. PT at Dodger Stadium, a time that is expected to coincide with high temperatures in the Los Angeles area. This early start time had already drawn criticism from the fanbase.

Adding to the inconvenience, Games 3 and 4 of the best-of-five series, scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, will begin at 3 p.m. PT. These afternoon games, whether played in Atlanta or Philadelphia, will require fans on the West Coast to watch during work hours. The timing is partly influenced by the San Diego Padres hosting their own NLDS games later in the evening on those same days.

The full schedule for the Dodgers' NLDS is as follows:

Game 1: Saturday, 1 p.m. PT at Dodger Stadium (Fox) Game 2: Sunday, 5 p.m. PT at Dodger Stadium (FS1) Game 3: Tuesday, 3 p.m. PT (in Atlanta or Philadelphia) (FS1) Game 4 (if necessary): Wednesday, 3 p.m. PT (in Atlanta or Philadelphia) (FS1) Game 5 (if necessary): Friday, Oct. 9, 5 p.m. PT at Dodger Stadium (Fox)

The Dodgers are beginning their quest for a third consecutive World Series title with this series. The timing of the road games, in particular, has sparked discussions among fans about the practicality of watching the games live.
