The Los Angeles Dodgers have donated $1.1 million to the California Community Foundation and Labor Community Services, organizations that support immigrant communities, according to a report by the Los Angeles Times. This contribution followed a period of increased federal immigration enforcement in Los Angeles in 2025.
The controversy leading to the donation began when U.S. Customs and Border Patrol agents briefly parked vehicles in the Dodger Stadium parking lot as they prepared to relocate. The Dodgers initially issued a statement claiming they had denied ICE agents access to the parking lot, a claim that ICE confirmed was inaccurate, stating agents never went to Dodger Stadium.
Despite the inaccuracy, the team maintained its statement and subsequently announced its intention to support pro-immigration groups. Representatives for the California Community Foundation and Labor Community Services confirmed the $1.1 million donation to the Times. The California Community Foundation established a fund to support local non-governmental organizations assisting immigrants, describing the immigration raids as a "humanitarian crisis." Labor Community Services aims to help immigrant groups find a "pathway to citizenship."
