Disneyland Visitors Fret Over Aggressive Sidewalk Solicitors

Disneyland guests are voicing frustration over a growing problem with aggressive religious preachers, pushy street vendors, and other solicitors congregating on sidewalks outside the park's main entrance, with some saying these encounters detract from their vacation experience.

The disturbances are concentrated along Harbor Boulevard, a primary pedestrian route for parkgoers, particularly those staying in nearby hotels. These activities occur on public sidewalks, limiting Disneyland's authority to intervene directly.

Visitors have shared experiences of being verbally harassed and feeling pressured by solicitors. One individual described being subjected to loud, amplified preaching that caused discomfort. Another recounted an instance where a group member’s polite comment about their father being a minister was met with aggressive shouting.

Complaints about preachers and vendors targeting families and children outside Disneyland have been ongoing for years. In past discussions, some visitors reported feeling pressured by individuals offering paid photos with animals, with demands for payment following unsolicited interactions.

To address the issue, Disneyland is reportedly planning a significant expansion that includes a new eastern parking structure and transit hub. This development is expected to feature an elevated pedestrian bridge over Harbor Boulevard, aiming to guide ticket holders above the congested street-level area.
