Disneyland has intensified its warnings for riders on the popular Tiana's Bayou Adventure attraction, now explicitly stating that guests who stand up during the ride will be removed from the park. This updated messaging replaces previous signs that indicated guests "may" be removed.
Twelve new signs have been installed around the attraction, primarily in queue areas, to ensure clarity regarding the safety rule. The change follows an incident in June where a 13-year-old boy fell from a log flume vehicle after standing up mid-ride. Reports indicate the boy did not sustain critical injuries.
The attraction, a log-flume style ride, is known for guests getting wet. Some visitors have reportedly attempted to lift their feet to keep footwear dry, a practice the new signage aims to discourage. The accident was attributed, in part, to the absence of lap bars on the Disneyland version of the attraction.
Disney fans have reacted to the updated warnings with a mix of amusement and approval. While some find it unnecessary to explicitly state such an obvious rule, others appreciate the clearer communication, preferring additional signage over potential physical restraints being added to the ride. The shift from "may" to "will" makes the consequence of violating the rule definitive for guests.
