Disney World Increases Ticket Prices, Premium Pass Nears $500

Disney has increased admission prices for its theme parks, with the premium 'Incredi-Pass' for Disney World now costing nearly $500. The price hike for the top-tier annual pass, which offers enhanced features like line skipping, rose by $120. Similarly, the annual top-tier pass saw a $120 increase, bringing its cost to approximately $1,800.

Despite the price adjustments, Disney emphasizes its commitment to affordability for families. Thomas Mazloum, chairman of Disney Experiences, stated that the company prioritizes guest feedback and understands the current economic pressures facing families. "Our goal is to put guests at the center of our decision making, and that starts by listening to them," Mazloum told CNN. "That matters more now when families are watching every dollar, and we see it in the choices they make every day—in how they plan, in how far ahead."

The company has kept the cheapest ticket prices stable, with a one-day ticket to Animal Kingdom remaining around $120. At Disneyland, the base ticket price is unchanged at $104. For visitors planning to attend multiple parks during peak season in 2027, a ticket for Disney World will cost $300.

In an effort to assist visitors in planning, Disney is piloting an AI tool on its website that allows users to ask questions such as, "What are the cheapest dates to visit by month and season?"

Disney's Chief Financial Officer, Hugh Johnston, previously indicated that the company aims to maintain a low base ticket price while increasing costs for add-on services like park hopping and expedited entry. This strategy is intended to attract younger families while capitalizing on demand for premium experiences.

Looking ahead, Disney's theme parks are set to introduce new attractions. Magic Kingdom at Disney World will undergo its largest expansion to date, featuring a new area based on the "Cars" franchise and a new section called Villains Land. Animal Kingdom is also slated to receive new themed areas inspired by Indiana Jones and "Encanto." Hollywood Studios will debut a "Monsters, Inc."-themed section.

Overall park attendance has seen a modest increase, with a 3% rise in attendance at Disney parks in the spring. In a separate development, Disneyland Paris recently reached maximum capacity, with both of its parks sold out, drawing a significant number of American tourists who found international travel to be a more cost-effective option than domestic Disney vacations.

This pricing strategy follows recent company-wide adjustments, including layoffs in Disney's television division and a broader reduction in workforce earlier in the year.
