Disney Faces Backlash Over Steep Prices for New Menu Items

Disneyland is drawing criticism from visitors for its latest menu offerings, with a $34 'Craftsman Burger' and a $22 'Hot Dog of the Month' sparking outrage among parkgoers.

The high prices were highlighted on a Disneyland subreddit, where a visitor shared a photo of the menu from the GCH Craftsman Bar, located within the Grand Californian Hotel in Anaheim. The post, titled '$34 burger has arrived,' quickly gained traction, accumulating hundreds of comments.

The Craftsman Burger is described as being topped with cilantro-mint aioli, Sonoma sharp white cheddar, white onion, lettuce, pickles, and tomato on a brioche bun, served with fries. The original poster expressed dismay at the "insane price point for a burger."

However, some commenters pointed out that the $22 hot dog, referred to as the "Hot Dog of the Month," might be the more contentious item. "THAT’S your breaking point? Not the $22 hot dog or the $29 nachos?" one user wrote, with another responding, "Literally!!!! I was like I’ll pay that. But a $22 HOT DOG?! I beg your finest pardon."

One user calculated that $22 could purchase approximately 14 of Costco's well-known $1.50 hot dogs. The current pricing controversy comes amid a series of increases for food and beverage items at Disney parks.

In July, Disney reportedly raised prices on more than 800 items across 178 dining locations at its Anaheim parks and hotels. According to the LA Times, these increases averaged about 8%, with some snack prices rising as much as 25%.
