Lee Andrews' ex-partner, Dina Taji, has stated she rescued a £2,000 pomsky dog purchased by Andrews and Katie Price, alleging it was abandoned with a pet-sitter. Taji, who runs a cat rescue shelter, posted on Instagram about taking the dog into her care after learning of Andrews' arrest.
Sources indicate that Katie Price is actively trying to have the dog brought back to the UK. Taji, in a video shared on her Instagram page, alluded to Andrews' situation, stating she felt compelled to rescue the dog because "this person is in jail."
She expressed a need to investigate the situation further before sending the dog to the UK, emphasizing her commitment to the animal's well-being and the reliability of potential owners. Taji stated she has no contact with the person who left the dog with the pet-sitter.
This incident occurs as Lee Andrews, 42, was reportedly re-arrested in Dubai, a month after his release from Al Awir prison. Reports suggest he claims to be close to securing his release by raising a £120,000 fine. His father, Peter, has also reportedly been jailed in the same Dubai prison.
Katie Price had previously faced criticism from animal welfare charity PETA regarding the acquisition of the pomsky, given past incidents involving animals in her care. PETA UK's Senior Vice President, Mimi Bekhechi, called the purchase a "new low" and reiterated calls for Price to be banned from owning animals. Price has attributed previous animal deaths to "bad luck."
Dina Taji and Katie Price had met previously after Andrews' initial arrest on suspicion of fraud. Taji reportedly warned Price about her husband.
Lee Andrews was initially imprisoned in Dubai on fraud allegations, though he has maintained his innocence, claiming he was captured at gunpoint and suspected of espionage. He has denied fraud charges and accusations from exes of scamming them. Andrews had previously disappeared, leading Price to initially claim he had been kidnapped before it emerged he was being held in Dubai's Al Awir prison.
