Dina Taji, the ex-partner of Lee Andrews, has stated she rescued the couple's £2,000 pomsky after it was reportedly left with a pet sitter. The development comes as Andrews faces further legal challenges, including a recent arrest in Dubai.
Taji shared on Instagram that she had to collect the dog and keep it safe, posting images on her cat rescue shelter's page. She indicated that she was motivated to act after learning of Andrews' arrest, stating, "I thought, 'I need to save this dog now this person is in jail.'"
Sources have reported that Katie Price, Andrews' wife, is now attempting to have the dog brought back to the UK. Taji expressed reservations about sending the dog to the UK, citing a lack of familiarity with the person requesting its return and a desire to ensure the animal's well-being. "I'm always gonna do what's best for the animal and the person who wants me to send the dog to the UK I don't know them," Taji wrote.
She further commented that the dog had been "abandoned with a pet sitter" and that she had no contact with the individual responsible. Taji stated her intention was solely to ensure the dog's safety after hearing about Andrews' situation.
This incident follows a series of legal issues for Lee Andrews. He was previously arrested in Dubai and held at Al Awir prison, reportedly for fraud allegations, though he has denied these claims and suggested he was captured at gunpoint. He was released from prison last month but was reportedly re-arrested recently. He is said to be boasting about an impending release, having raised a £120,000 fine.
Katie Price has faced criticism from animal welfare organizations, including PETA, in the past due to previous incidents involving animals in her care. Five dogs, a horse, and a chameleon reportedly died while under her ownership, with Price attributing these events to "bad luck."
Lee Andrews' father, Peter, has also reportedly been taken to the same Dubai jail as his son. Lee maintains his innocence and is reportedly seeking to pay off debts to return to the UK.
