Din Tai Fung, a globally recognized Asian restaurant chain, is expanding its presence in Southern California with a new 14,000-square-foot location opening at 1401 Brea Mall Lane in Brea. The restaurant is scheduled for a soft opening on August 7, with its grand opening on August 31. This new establishment is expected to generate hundreds of jobs in the Orange County area.

The Brea Mall location will feature the chain's signature handcrafted Taiwanese soup dumplings, along with other popular dishes, in an upscale setting designed to blend modern architecture with cultural elegance. The menu also includes buns, bao, cucumber salad, noodles, spicy wontons, noodle soups, and hand-shaken cocktails. The restaurant is particularly known for its soup dumplings, prepared with a "Golden Ratio" that is the result of extensive culinary training.

Albert Yang, CEO of Din Tai Fung North America, stated that Brea was chosen for its strong community and its status as a prominent retail and dining destination. "We are excited to welcome guests and create meaningful dining moments for the Brea community and visitors alike," Yang said.

This will be Din Tai Fung's fourth location in Orange County and will contribute to its growing presence across California, with plans for a dozen restaurants throughout the state. The chain, which began in Taiwan in 1958 as a cooking oil retail business founded by Bing-Yi Yang and his wife, Pen-Mei Lai, was later transformed into a dumpling and noodle shop in 1972. It remains a family-owned business, now operated by the founders' grandsons, Albert and Aaron Yang. The Michelin-recognized restaurant brand currently operates over 165 locations in 13 countries worldwide. The first U.S. location opened in Arcadia, California, and has since expanded to nearly two dozen restaurants across six states, predominantly on the West Coast.
