Dillon Brooks Mocks LeBron James in Sports Betting Ad Amid Ongoing Rivalry

Suns guard Dillon Brooks has released a satirical advertisement for the prediction market Kalshi, trolling LeBron James on NBA’s Opening Night. The ad comes amid an ongoing rivalry between the two players and follows James's September announcement of a multi-year partnership with another prediction market, Polymarket.

In the promotional ad, Brooks introduces the "King Blocker 9000," a fictional device designed to "mute any mention" of the four-time NBA champion. The ad depicts Brooks sitting on a couch when another version of himself appears on screen, presenting the gadget as a solution for those tired of hearing about James's career moves, endorsements, and public profile.

The rivalry between Brooks and James dates back to the 2021 season, when James, then with the Lakers, hit a crucial shot over Brooks, who was with the Grizzlies. James followed the shot with the "too small" celebration. In 2023, after the Lakers defeated the Grizzlies in the playoffs, Brooks commented on James's age, stating, "He's old. I poke bears, I don't respect someone until they give me 40."

Further escalating their public exchanges, in 2025, Brooks and James engaged in back-and-forth banter, with the Suns guard referring to James, the NBA's all-time leading scorer, as a "social media junkie." That same season, Brooks did not hold back in expressing his opinion on James, remarking, "(James) likes people that bow down, I don't bow down, so that either entices him or aggravates him, either-or."

While Brooks continues to play for the Suns, James has since moved to the Eastern Conference to join the 76ers. The two players are scheduled to face each other twice during the upcoming season: December 30 in Phoenix and February 17 in Philadelphia.
