Dillon Brooks Charged With DUI Months After Arizona Arrest

Phoenix Suns forward Dillon Brooks has been formally charged with a misdemeanor count of DUI liquor/drugs/vapors/combo, Scottsdale prosecutors announced Monday, according to court records. His arraignment is scheduled for Oct. 28.

Brooks was initially accused of the offense on March 6. Scottsdale police reported pulling over Brooks for a traffic violation around 1:33 a.m. Officers at the scene indicated Brooks showed signs of impairment. Bodycam footage from the arrest shows Brooks blowing a 0.0 on a breathalyzer test, while an officer noted the vehicle smelled like a dispensary. Brooks, who was recovering from a fractured hand at the time, told the officer he had not smoked marijuana in approximately six months.

Brooks' attorney, Larry Kazan, stated that his client acknowledges the charge and respects the legal process. "Because the case is pending, neither Mr. Brooks nor his legal counsel Larry Kazan will have any further comment at this time," Kazan said in a statement.

The Scottsdale City Attorney’s Office has not yet responded to requests for comment.

This incident follows a previous interaction with law enforcement in January, when Brooks was cited for reckless driving for allegedly traveling 85 mph in a 45 mph zone.

Brooks, drafted into the NBA in 2017, joined the Suns in 2025 and averaged 20.2 points per game in his first season with the team. He signed a three-year, $73 million contract extension with Phoenix earlier this summer.
