Diddy's Prison Release Date Moved Up to January 2028
The music mogul's scheduled release from a four-year sentence has been adjusted multiple times since he began serving his term.
Sean 'Diddy' Combs's projected release date from prison has been moved to January 21, 2028, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons. This adjustment represents the earliest release date yet for the music mogul, who was sentenced to four years and two months on two prostitution charges.
Combs's release date has seen several revisions since he began serving his 50-month sentence. Initially slated for May 8, 2028, the date was later adjusted to June 4, 2028. A reprieve in October moved it to April 25, 2028, attributed to the FIRST STEP Act, a prison reform law enacted during the Trump administration. The date has since undergone further adjustments.
A jury found Combs guilty last year of transporting prostitutes across state lines for sexual purposes. He was acquitted of more serious charges, including racketeering and sex trafficking.
During Combs's trial, his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura testified, alleging over a decade of abuse.
Reports have surfaced regarding Combs's conduct since his incarceration, including allegations of drinking moonshine and making an unauthorized three-way phone call. A statement attributed to Combs on his X account denied the moonshine allegations, stating they were false and that his focus is on self-improvement and family. A spokesperson also asserted that Combs has not violated prison rules and is prioritizing sobriety and self-discipline.
Combs's legal team has indicated that rumors are likely to emerge during his time in prison.
Following his prison term, Combs is also subject to five years of supervised release. The sentencing judge emphasized the need for deterrence, expressing doubt that such crimes would not recur if Combs were released without a significant sentence, and highlighted the 'irreparable harm' caused to victims.
