Diddy's Prison Release Date Extended Following Solitary Confinement Stay

Sean 'Diddy' Combs's federal prison release date has been extended by six weeks, pushing his expected exit from FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey to March 2, 2028. This revised date follows a period where Combs was reportedly placed in solitary confinement.

According to Bureau of Prisons records viewed by the Daily Mail, this marks a significant shift from his previously scheduled release of January 21, 2028. The Bureau of Prisons stated, "For privacy, safety, and security reasons, we do not comment on the conditions of confinement for any incarcerated individual, including reasons for a change in release date."

Reports suggest Combs was moved to solitary confinement amid an investigation into allegations of lavish "VIP" treatment within the prison. These claims, initially reported by NBC News, describe instances where other inmates allegedly performed tasks for Combs, such as cooking, cleaning his cell, and providing massages. Sources told TMZ that placing an inmate in solitary is standard procedure during an investigation, though it remains unclear if an investigation is still active or if his stay was considered routine.

Combs was previously placed in solitary confinement in July after an altercation with another inmate. The recent NBC News report detailed claims of Combs having access to a contraband cell phone, on which he allegedly received nude photos and used a "jail broken" tablet to watch documentaries, including one critical of him.

Four individuals who spent time in Combs's unit described a lifestyle that included smuggled liquor, purchases of antidepressants from other inmates, and fellow prisoners managing his mail and phone calls. One inmate reportedly provided him with Chinese-style massages. These luxuries were allegedly funded by external individuals who replenished the commissary accounts of inmates working for Combs, with thousands of dollars reportedly spent monthly. Photos obtained by the publication showed meals prepared by inmates specifically for Combs, described by one source as "rich s***" unlike typical jail food.

Diddy's representative, Juda S. Engelmayer, commented on the reports to the Daily Mail, stating, "There is no way we can independently verify those rumors." He added, "The continued scrutiny of every mundane detail of Sean Combs's life in prison has reached the point where the media characterizes ordinary prison life as news." Engelmayer maintained that Combs "continues to serve his sentence within the rules and he patiently awaits the court's decision on his appeal."

Combs was sentenced to four years and two months in prison last year after being convicted of two counts of transporting prostitutes across state lines for sexual purposes. He was acquitted of more serious charges including racketeering and sex trafficking. The trial included graphic testimony from his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, who alleged over a decade of abuse.

His release date has been subject to multiple adjustments since he began his sentence. Initially set for May 2028, it was later moved to June 4, 2028. A reprieve last October, attributed to the FIRST STEP Act, moved the date to April 25, 2028. The date then gradually shifted earlier until the recent January 21, 2028 projection, which was subsequently delayed following his latest stint in solitary confinement.

The Bureau of Prisons acknowledged that contraband, particularly cell phones and narcotics, remains a challenge. They stated that inmates found violating policies are subject to sanctions and that allegations of staff misconduct are investigated if warranted, with potential administrative discipline or criminal prosecution.
