Diane Keaton's Daughter Marks One-Year Anniversary of Actress's Death

Diane Keaton's daughter, Dexter Keaton White, honored the one-year anniversary of the acclaimed actress's passing with a poignant tribute on Instagram. Keaton died at the age of 79 after a battle with bacterial pneumonia.

Dexter, 30, shared a black-and-white photograph from her 2021 wedding to Jordan White, featuring her late mother. "One year without you, mom," Dexter wrote. "It somehow feels like yesterday and forever ago all at once. I’m still trying to get used to a world where I can’t call you, have you there for a hug, or go on adventures with you."

She continued, stating that it is "the everyday moments that remind" her "just how much" she wished her late mother was "still here." Dexter concluded the emotional post by saying, "I love you and I miss you. Always."

The late star, known for her roles in "Annie Hall," "The Godfather," and "The First Wives Club," adopted Dexter in 1996 and her son Duke, now 25, in 2001. Dexter has frequently shared online memorials for Keaton since her death.

In May, Dexter remembered her mother with a series of photos and an emotional post for the first Mother's Day without her. "I miss you more than words can say. Missing her voice, her hugs, her presence, and everything that made her home. I love you, Mom," she wrote.

Earlier this year, Dexter marked what would have been Keaton's 80th birthday with an Instagram post featuring a picture of them by the ocean, accompanied by the message, "I miss you, mom." The post also included an image of a tattoo Dexter got after her mother's passing.

In a 2014 Mother's Day post, Dexter praised Keaton as "a strong, beautiful, and talented woman," adding, "I couldn't thank you enough for everything you've done for me. I love you!"

Keaton once spoke with Ladies' Home Journal in 2008 about her path to motherhood, sharing that she never felt fully prepared but that it was a decision she had "been thinking for a very long time."

Keaton left behind a significant legacy in Hollywood, with her performances in the 1970s, including the titular role in Woody Allen's 1977 comedy "Annie Hall," widely regarded as among the decade's best. She received an Academy Award for Best Actress for "Annie Hall," her first of four Oscar nominations. Other notable films for which she earned nominations include "Reds" (1981), "Marvin's Room" (1996), and "Something's Gotta Give" (2003). Her extensive filmography also includes "Baby Boom" (1987), "The First Wives Club" (1996), and the "Father of the Bride" films (1991 and 1995).
