Diana Vickers Shares Dating Woes After Being Ghosted Twice
The 'X Factor' star advises fans not to give men a chance after experiencing multiple instances of potential suitors disappearing after showing significant interest.
Diana Vickers has expressed her frustrations with modern dating, revealing that she has been ghosted by two men in the past month.
The 35-year-old singer, known for her candor about her love life, took to Instagram to share her experiences. Vickers warned her followers against pursuing men who show initial strong interest but then vanish, advising, "Don't bother."
According to Vickers, both men initiated contact, provided their phone numbers, and expressed keen interest. In one instance, she described the individual as being "super keen," engaging in multiple messages. However, shortly after agreeing to a date, both men subsequently disappeared without a trace.
"It's the hunt, it's the chase, it's the double message, triple messaging," Vickers explained about the pattern. "Like 'hello, hello, date me, date me', and you finally go, 'Yeah, all right then. Fine, I'll go.' And then gone. Poof."
This update comes after Vickers revealed in July that she had ended a year-long period of celibacy by sleeping with a colleague. She had previously given up sex to focus her energy on work, but stated that she eventually craved intimacy and affection, noting that sex is one of her love languages.
"It got to the year mark, which I wanted to reach and I celebrated it by sleeping with someone I worked with," she told Fabulous Magazine at the time, describing the experience as "lovely" with a man she has remained friends with.
Vickers, whose last public relationship was with model George Craig ending in 2015, is now contemplating settling down. She expressed a desire for a deep connection with someone who is supportive and brings joy into her life.
"I never feel lonely as my life is so full, but there is something in me at the moment where I'd like that now," she said.
