Former Dallas Cowboys player Dez Bryant has stated that a police officer pointed a gun at him during an incident in Southlake, Texas, over the weekend. Bryant, 37, recounted the event in an interview with Outkick, describing a confrontation that began outside a restaurant.
According to Bryant, the dispute involved two other drivers who he claimed had been driving recklessly and cut him off in traffic. One of the individuals allegedly threatened Bryant and "insinuated" he would shoot him, but instead produced a cellphone to record the interaction. Bryant stated he knocked the phone from the man's hand.
A police officer arrived at the scene and directed all three men to get on the ground. Video footage shared by Outkick shows police officers standing over three men who were handcuffed and lying face down in a parking lot.
Bryant said he received a citation for assault by contact and was instructed to appear in Southlake Municipal Court. He expressed that his primary concern was for his children witnessing the event. Bryant was a three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver with the Cowboys from 2010 to 2017 and concluded his NFL career with the Baltimore Ravens in 2020.
